On the road to... Elf Fantasy Fair - Part 1; Fabric haul

Hi all,

It's been a very busy two weeks with, unfortunately, practically no time to do any crafting. Early mornings and late nights don't really help with trying to make something. Luckily I was able to pop round the Albert Cuyp market here in Amsterdam and buy some fabric for my costume for the upcoming event: the Elf Fantasy Fair (EFF). Velvet cirkle skirt

Hi all,

After making my velvet dress a while back, I still had some of the fabric left over. This came in handy, as I had decided that I wanted a new skirt. As there is hardly anything easier and quicker to make than a circle skirt (plus, it's really flattering), that's what I decided to make.

Penguin beanie

Hi everyone,

This week again something I've crocheted for someone else (I seem to only crochet presents for people...). A good friend of mine loves penguins and beanies, so 1+1 couldn't have been easier: I made him a penguin beanie.

Like I mentioned in my new year's resolutions I'm working on starting my Etsy shop and animal beanies will be one of the things that I plan to sell there.

What kind of animals would you like as beanies?

-Love, Marieke

Creating a pompon on your hand

Pompons make for a nice decoration on, for example, beanies. Of course you can buy them ready-made, but what if you have wool in a less common colour? You make it yourself of course! There are different ways of making pompons. You can use, for example, a store-bought pompon maker, or, as I was taught in primary school, use two cardboard rings. However, if you don't have one of those fancy pompon makers and you don't have any spare cardboard lying around, there is a third way of making a pompon: on your hand! Read further to learn how to easily create these fluffy yourself.
